In the normally open mode, the switch remains OFF until the float is elevated by the liquid, subsequently making contact with the elastic ring and turning the switch ON. Once activated, the switch enables the tank to begin emptying automatically until the switch turns OFF, signaling the system to commence refilling the tank.
